The newest Valente Brothers blue belt is, 74 year old, Dr. Marc Silbret from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Escaping from the cold northeastern weather during the winter, Dr. Silbret, a New York native, began training Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 2005 with Professor Gui Valente in North Miami Beach. Every year since then, Dr. Silbret takes advantage of the few months he spends in South Florida to take lessons from the Valentes. Upon awarding the belt, Professors Gui congratulated Dr. Silbret on his achievement and thanked him for helping inspire future and present students. Professor Gui also remembered how Grandmaster Hélio Gracie served as a great example to Dr. Silbret when he first came to the school 6 years ago. Professor Pedro also congratulated the new blue belt and stated, “This is definitely a well deserved belt!”
