Once again hundreds of students, friends and family members attended the Valente Brothers biannual Belt Promotion Ceremony. The Summer Belt Ceremony awards blue, purple, and brown belts. This year’s ceremony was exceptional in many regards. Our new Pembroke Pines Valente Brothers location produced its first two blue belts. Professor Pedro Valente opened the evening with a fine speech touching on some important historical and philosophical points. He talked about the value of learning jiu-jitsu and the importance of influencing friends and family to experience the transformative benefits of this wonderful art. One remarkable aspect of the belt ceremonies is the positive energy that is felt by all present. The expressions of pride and happiness are noticeable in the faces of not only the promoted students, but also fellow training partners and family members. Valente Brothers is proud to extend warm congratulations to all the students who worked hard to deserve a new belt.

What a great event the belt ceremony was. It had tremendous sense of brotherhood in the room. I was especially excited to see my father receive his blue belt. Thanks to Bruce and the others who have help us out (Dan, Scott, Junior, John, Josh, etc).

To the Valente Brothers Instructors: Congradulations on your promotions in the last belt ceremony. The attainment of a belt is every bit as much the accomplishment of the instructor as it is the student's. I know I would not be where I am had I trained anywhere else. Thank you and your family for your tireless dedication to not only dissiminating the art Helio created, but in the care you take to keep it in its original form. Doing so takes a greater hands on presence and a lot more work than other schools, who having been compromised by lazines or greed, would be willing to provide. The successs of your belt ceremonies is a testiment of your commitment to put the proper developement of your students above all other considerations. Best Regards, Rusty

Great ceremony- it's always fun to see guys that I train with regularly, as well as those with whom I trained on one of their first visits to our academy, being promoted! Special congrats to Josh Perez, who I trained with on my first visit, on his promotion to purple!
